Structure Fire in the 800 Block of Cardiff Road

NAPERVILLE, Ill. — At 8:11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 10, Naperville’s Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) received a call from a contractor in the area reporting black smoke from the roof of a single-family home located in the 800 block of Cardiff Road. Naperville 911(PSAP) dispatched a general alarm assignment consisting of 10 pieces of fire apparatus and 24 personnel, including an incident commander and incident safety officer, to the reported address.

At 8:33 a.m., the fire was deemed under control. Fire companies remained on the scene for another 90 minutes to ensure all hot spots were extinguished.

The Naperville Fire Department was assisted on the scene by the Naperville Police Department. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
