Nate Wilson

Councilman

A resident of the south side of Naperville for more than 10 years, Nate Wilson is using his knowledge of economics and his experiences raising a young family to serve the City. First elected to the City Council in 2023, Wilson understands the community spirit that makes Naperville great through volunteerism and service. He aims to help support the businesses, amenities, services and events that make Naperville special, while also promoting fiscal responsibility, public safety and responsible growth.

A senior software engineer who designs financial applications for a Chicago trading company, Wilson has a Bachelor of Science in Finance and a Master of Science in Information Systems, both from the University of Illinois Chicago. He has previously worked for Virtu Financial/Knight Capital Group, Spot Trading and Peak6 Investments, all in software engineering roles. Wilson moved with his wife, Julie, back to her hometown, to raise their two elementary-aged children in a community often ranked as one of the best cities in America in which to live and raise a family. He has gotten involved to further Naperville’s positive environment by supporting children, veterans and the community as a whole.

Wilson volunteers with the Naperville Jaycees and the Naperville Swim Conference, in addition to serving as a volunteer youth soccer coach. He has volunteered with Naperville Responds for Veterans at the Naperville Salute Fourth of July festival, and, prior to his election to the City Council, Wilson served as a member of the Naperville Human Rights and Fair Housing Commission. In his spare time, he enjoys being with his family – whether it’s taking trips or going to a movie – as well as biking, lifting weights and reading.

As he joins the Council, Wilson wants to bring the perspective of a younger family along with his economic, tax and technological expertise. He remains committed to making smart financial decisions, supporting public safety and promoting responsible development as he embraces his continued service to the community.

Councilman Wilson serves as a liaison to the Human Rights and Fair Housing Commission, the Public Utilities Advisory Board and the Emergency Telephone System Board.

Councilman Wilson’s current term expires in 2027.
