700 Block Wildflower Circle Structure Fire

NAPERVILLE, Ill. —  At 12:36 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 14, the Naperville Emergency Communication Center (ECC) received a call for a structure fire in a single-family home located in the 700 block of Wildflower Circle. Naperville 911 (ECC) dispatched a general alarm assignment consisting of 10 pieces of fire apparatus and 24 personnel, including an incident commander and incident safety officer, to the reported address. While companies were en route, they could see heavy smoke coming from the area.

At 12:40 p.m., the first vehicle arrived on scene and found the side and roof of the home were on fire. The flames from the home extended to the neighboring residence. At 12:44 p.m. the incident commander requested a box alarm response to the address to assist consisting of an additional five pieces of fire apparatus and 21 additional personnel. Fire companies ensured all residents were out of the home and then quickly deployed several hose lines and aerial devices to contain the fire. At 1:25 p.m., the fire was deemed under control. Fire companies remained on the scene another hour to ensure all hot spots were extinguished.

The Naperville Fire Department was assisted on the scene by the Naperville Police; Electric; and Transportation, Engineering and Development departments. The Bolingbrook, Lisle – Woodridge, Warrenville, Oswego, Plainfield, and Westmont Fire departments provided coverage during the incident and assistance on the scene.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. There were no injuries to any occupants or firefighters while operating on scene. The building was deemed to be uninhabitable by the Naperville Transportation, Engineering, and Development team. The blaze is estimated to have caused $300,000 in damage.
