Naperville Police Arrest Chicago Man Allegedly Selling Cocaine and Heroin/Fentanyl in Naperville

NAPERVILLE, Ill. — In early October of this year, the Naperville Police Department received information regarding the alleged illicit sale of narcotics on the northwest side of the City near Route 59 and Pebblewood Lane. Members of the Naperville Police Special Operations Group began an investigation which led to the arrest of Eugene Walker, a 33-year-old man from the 1200 block of South Springfield Avenue, Chicago.

Naperville Police Detectives observed Walker as he approached a building in the Pebblewood Lane area. Detectives contacted Walker who was found to be in possession of 125 grams of suspected cocaine and 44 grams of suspected heroin/fentanyl combination.

Walker was taken into custody and charged with 1 count of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Cocaine), a Class 1 felony, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Heroin), a Class 1 felony, and Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance Other (Fentanyl), a Class 4 felony.  Walker was later transported to the DuPage County Jail.

“I want to sincerely thank the men and women of this police department who continue to take these dangerous drugs off our streets,” said Naperville Police Chief Jason Arres. “Our department will continue to be proactive and hold those accountable who bring these drugs into our City.”

The Naperville Police wish to remind the public and the news media that a charge is merely an accusation, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
