Structure Fire in the 4300 Block of Clearwater Lane

NAPERVILLE, Ill. — At approximately 2:32 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 25, Naperville’s Emergency Communications Center (ECC) received a call from a bystander(s) who reported something on fire on the exterior of a single family home. Naperville 911 (ECC) dispatched a general alarm assignment consisting of nine pieces of fire apparatus and a total of 27 personnel, including an Incident Commander, Incident Safety Officer and a Division Chief, to the reported address.

At 2:37 p.m. the first vehicle arrived on scene and found visible smoke coming from the side of a single-family home. Fire companies assisted one resident out of the home and then quickly stretched a hose line to contain the fire. No fire extension into the interior of the home was found, with all damage contained to the exterior. Within a few minutes, the fire was deemed under control. Fire companies remained on the scene another 30 minutes to ensure the fire was completely extinguished.

The Naperville Fire Department was assisted on scene by the Naperville Police Department and the Naperville Electric Department. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. There were no injuries to any occupants or firefighters while operating on scene. The building was deemed to be habitable by the Naperville Fire Department. The blaze is estimated to have caused an approximate $15,000 in damages.
