Naperville Police Arrest LaGrange Man on Felony Grooming and Sexual Abuse Charges
NAPERVILLE, ILL - Naperville Police arrested a Neuqua Valley High School teacher on April 3, 2025, following an investigation into allegations that he was having an inappropriate relationship with a student.
William Schaub, 56, of the 0-100 block of N. Stone Avenue in La Grange, is charged with one count of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse, a Class 1 felony, one count of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse, a Class 2 felony, and one count of Grooming, a Class 4 felony.
School officials informed Naperville Police on March 7 that they had received an anonymous tip alleging an inappropriate relationship between Schaub and a female student. The investigation, conducted in collaboration with the Will County Child Advocacy Center, led to the discovery of inappropriate electronic messages between Schaub and the student sent between November 2024 and March 2025 as well as evidence of inappropriate physical contact between the two in December 2024.
Schaub was arrested by Naperville Police on a traffic stop near his home on April 3. He was taken into custody without incident and later transported to the Will County Jail.
The Naperville Police wish to remind the public and the news media that a charge is merely an accusation, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
