About the Fire Department
The mission of the Naperville Fire Department is to respond to all emergency and non-emergency calls for service in a time that meets the expectations of the community and to promote safe practices through ongoing fire prevention and public education programs.
The Fire Department is made up of about 200 employees at 10 stations averages around 16,000 calls for service annually.

Department History
The Naperville Fire Department was founded and chartered by the City of Naperville and State of Illinois in 1874 after two major fires occurred in the downtown area.

Fire Station Locations
The Naperville Fire Department operates 10 fire stations that are strategically located throughout the community to help reduce response times.

The Office of the Naperville Fire Marshal is committed to protecting life and property from fire through life safety inspections, code enforcement, education and investigation.

Specialty Teams
Four specialty teams – Hazardous Materials, Tactical EMS, Technical Rescue and Water Rescue – better prepare the Naperville Fire Department to meet the emergency response needs of the community.
