Inspections and Permits

Fire Safety Inspections

All commercial and multi-family occupancies are inspected annually to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations and codes. Inspections are conducted by on-duty shift personnel throughout the year. If violations are noted, occupancies are expected to correct such violations within two weeks.

Fire Suppression Systems

The Naperville Fire Department has jurisdiction over permit issuance and acceptance testing and inspections of fire protection systems.

Fire Alarm Systems

The Naperville Fire Department has jurisdiction over fire alarm permits and acceptance testing and inspection of fire alarm systems.

Fuel Tank Permits

A fuel tank permit is required for the installation of any aboveground or underground storage tanks. 

Open Burning Permits

Open burning is prohibited within the city limits of Naperville without an open burning permit.
