July 15, 2024 Severe Weather Updates
City crews are responding to the impacts of severe weather that moved through the Naperville area on the evening of July 15, 2024. This page will include updates on the ongoing effects of these storms.

Service Changes
No yard waste stickers required from July 17 through July 24
Due to severe weather on the evening of July 15, yard waste bags or bundles will NOT require stickers from Wednesday, July 17, through the end of the Wednesday, July 24, collection day. Bundles are preferred for easier collection and should follow all yard waste requirements listed at www.naperville.il.us/yardwaste as closely as possible. Collection will occur on your regular refuse collection day.
Electrical Outages
All known outages have been resolved at this time. Any customers who are still experiencing outages should contact the City at 630-420-6187.
Blocked Roadways & Tree Debris Removal
The anticipated timeframe and priority process for tree debris removal is noted below:
- First Priority: Removal of tree debris from roadways and driveways
- Estimated time to completion is 1 day
- Three Public Works crews and a city contractor are currently conducting removal efforts
- Second Priority: Removal of tree debris over sidewalks and hanging branches over roads and sidewalks
- Estimated time to completion is 3 to 5 days
- Third Priority: Pick-up of downed branches that are not blocking roads or sidewalks or present an immediate hazard
- Estimated time to completion is 3 to 5 days
